Ko Phayam can only be approached through a boat that takes off from the main Tai Kak Pier in Ranong on the mainland. The nearest airport for international travelers is Ranong Airport (UNN) that serves direct flights to and from Bangkok (Don Mueang – DMK). To reach the pier from Ranong Airport takes about 30 minutes by a taxi or by a songthaew. Ranong can also be reached by long-distance buses that ply from Bangkok, or other major cities of Southern Thailand.

Once you’re at Ranong Pier, there are two choices to get to the island. The cheap way – the ‘slow boat’ (ferry), which takes about 2 hours and is a relaxing trip with fantastic views. The much quicker and today’s most used method is the ‘speedboat,’ taking only 40-45 minutes with very frequent trips round the clock, especially in season and seasons. You really should buy your boat tickets in advance online or right at the pier.

When you reach the Koh Phayam pier, you will find many motorbike taxi drivers waiting for you. This is the only transportation available on the island since no cars can run over there. Coffee and Resort is situated in the middle of the island, it takes 10-15 minutes by motorbike taxi from the pier.
